Gibson Steps Great Ocean Road, Day Two

Nothing prepared me for what we would see on our second day along the Great Ocean Road.

We were now approaching The Twelve Apostles.

First, Gibson's Steps. These steps lead you down to the sand and The Southern Ocean.

I was determined to dip my feet into the Souther Ocean, but just like in Lorne, almost go swept off my feet. The surf here is viscous. Certainly not to be messed with!

The magnificence of the Twelve Apostles is something to behold.

The Great Ocean Road

The Pole House, Fairhaven Beach, the most photographed house on the Great Ocean Road. Available for rent, just a few thousand dollars a week.

The Great Ocean Road is AMAZING! Must be seen to be believed. Once again the weather was not on our side but despite this the views were breathless. We had morning tea at Split Rock Lighthouse and then wound our way along. Sometimes it was sunny, sometimes it was raining.

As much as I hate water in huge quantities, I was determined to dip my feet into Bass Strait. Here I am being brave at Lorne, almost got swept away.
